The Association of Displaced People and Refugees of Darfur has strongly condemned the killing of the two Unamid peacekeepers on Sunday by unidentified gunmen.<\/p>\n

The spokesperson for the Association, Hussein Abu Sharati, said to Radio Dabanga that the targeting and killing of Unamid forces and employees of humanitarian organisations in Darfur is an atrocious crime of which the perpetrators should be persecuted and brought to trial.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, Abu Sharati stressed, none of the assailants, kidnappers, or murderers of Unamid troops or employees of relief organisations in Darfur, has been brought to justice by the Sudanese authorities, \u201cnot one of them\u201d.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the Public Prosecutor for Crimes in Darfur, Yaser Ahmed Mohamed, announced in a statement to the Sudan News Agency (SUNA) that the authorities in South Darfur have arrested one of the gunmen accused of killing the Unamid troops on Sunday. Another accused gunman was killed.<\/p>\n

Mohamed added that the security forces are continuing their efforts.<\/p>\n
