Second Vice-President of Sudan, Hassabo Mohamed Abdel Rahman, has ordered the completion of the security requirements for stabilising North Darfur State.<\/p>\n

During a meeting at the Presidential Palace on Tuesday, attended by the Governor of North Darfur state, and the ministers of Defence and Interior Affairs, the Head of the National Security and Intelligence Services, the Vice-President instructed the Governor of North Darfur to hand over a report about the details of the security situation in the state before the 15th<\/sup> of January, in particular about the security situation in Kutum, Kabkabiya, Saraf Omra, and El Sareif localities.<\/p>\n

The Governor of North Darfur state, Osman Kibir, said in a press statement after the meeting that it was agreed to empower the mechanism created by the El Fasher Agreement of August 2013 between the conflicting Abbala and Beni Hussein tribes in Jebel \u2018Amer, Kutum, Saraf Omra, and the surrounding areas, with the cooperation of justice and police organs.<\/p>\n

Kibir explained that the high-level meeting on North Darfur dealt with the measures taken in handling the matrix of the security situation in North Darfur and the steps implemented and that the date of the 15th of January was scheduled as the deadline for the security services\u2019 completion of the implementation in relation to security and stability of the situation in those areas.<\/p>\n
