On Sunday evening, militiamen stormed El Salam camp in South Darfur, in search of a vehicle they claimed was missing.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Radio Dabanga, sheikh Mahjoub Adam Tabaldiya reported that between 30-35 militiamen in three vehicles stormed El Salam camp near Nyala, the capital of South Darfur, in search of a vehicle. They threatened to torch the camp if they would not find the vehicle.<\/p>\n

The men stormed the camp at 6pm on Sunday evening and left again at about 6pm on Monday. The sheikh noted that the camp residents did not believe the militiamen were searching for a vehicle. They were of the opinion that \u201cthese insurgents are the displaced in order to break up the camp.<\/p>\n

The incident was reported to the police and Unamid, who searched the camp but did not find the vehicle.<\/p>\n

Sheikh Tabaldiya demanded from the authorities to pursue and prosecute those militiamen who continuously threaten and scare the camp residents.<\/p>\n
