On Saturday, two Sukhoi jet fighters attacked Kauda town in Heiban locality with 48 rockets. The secretariat of the locality\u2019s Education Office and the Kauda Teacher Training Institute were severely damaged by 32 bombs. Kauda\u2019s football pitch and market were also hit. The area near the town\u2019s orphanage school was hit by 16 rockets. Seven sheep were killed.<\/p>\n

Two days earlier, the Sudanese Air Force bombed Tindemin village in South Kordofan. The village\u2019s mosque, a borehole and a grinding mill were hit, according to a press statement issued by Arnu Ngutulu Lodi, the spokesman for the Sudan People\u2019s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N).<\/p>\n

At about 4.30pm on Thursday an Antonov of the Sudanese Air Force hit the village of Tindemin in Rashad locality with three bombs, the statement said. The imam of the mosque, Adam Jaile (71) and villager Abdel Aziz Hassan (37) lost their legs. Villagers Mahmoud Adam (45), Mahmoud Abdallah  (50), and Yahya Hassan (57) were critically injured. Tindemin village hosts many displaced, the statement added.<\/p>\n

The SPLM-N considers these \u201cplanned crimes targeting civilians and institutions rendering services to the community, a clear violation of UN Resolution 1261\u201d.<\/p>\n

UN Resolution 1261 (1999) condemns the targeting of children in situations of armed conflict, including killing and maiming, sexual violence, abduction and forced displacement, recruitment and use of children in armed conflict in violation of international law and attacks on places that usually have a significant presence of children such as schools and hospitals, and called on all parties concerned to put an end to such practices.<\/p>\n
