The Sudan Liberation Movement, led by Minni Minawi (SLM-MM) announced that on Wednesday they killed 20 militiamen in a battle with Rapid Support Forces in South Darfur.<\/p>\n

The SLM-MM military spokesman, Adam Salih Abakar, in a statement issued on the same day, announced that their troops destroyed a paramilitary reconnaissance squad, south of Nyala, the capital of South Darfur, on Wednesday afternoon.<\/p>\n

The squad, consisting of Rapid Support Forces, moved towards the areas controlled by the SLM-MM, south of Nyala. It went ahead of several paramilitary convoys that had gathered in the area south of the railway leading from Ed Daein to Nyala. Abakar stated that the SLM-MM troops destroyed the complete squad, and killed \u201c20 militiamen\u201d. They also captured two four-wheel drive Land Cruisers, entirely loaded with weapons.<\/p>\n

The spokesman warned the Rapid Support Forces that their fate will be similar to that of the recon squad.<\/p>\n
