The lawyers of the Darfur Bar Association have sought the counsel of the National Human Rights Commission to use its powers and authority to commit the security apparatus to release blogger Tajeldin Ahmed Arja immediately or refer him to legal procedures without any unjustified delay.<\/p>\n

In December last year, Arja confronted the Sudanese and the Chadian Presidents at a meeting in Khartoum with Ministers and Darfuri notables. He described both of them as liars and responsible for the incidents in Darfur, after which he was detained.<\/p>\n

The action by the Bar Association is in response to the announcement by the security forces that Arja will remain in detention pending the completion of the investigation.<\/p>\n

The Commission said in its response to the complaints it will follow up the matter with the security authorities until the accused will be released or be brought to trial, if there is a justified prima facie evidence.<\/p>\n
