We urgently need to provide water pumps, generators, and tankers to transport water to the citizens. We need to provide fuel and financial support.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Abu Abbas Abdallah Tayeb Jido, the federal Minister of Health, described the health conditions in the affected localities of Saraf Omra, Alliet, El Taweisha, and Kalamindo, as \u201cvery serious\u201d. \u201cAll health facilities were destroyed, and medical equipment and medicines looted. Health workers were displaced. Some of them were killed and wounded.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He said that the rate of mortality among mothers, children, and elderly may have risen \u201cbecause of the lack of health services, and malnutrition. Cases of depression and hysteria may prevail as a result of intimidation and the loss of family members. Another problem is the absence of national or international organisations that could provide health services.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Concerning the provision of food, the Minister of Agriculture, Eisa Mohamed Abdallah, warned that the farmlands in the four affected localities are deserted.
