The Sudanese Air Force continued to bomb areas in East Jebel Marra for the third day in a row.<\/p>\n

The villages of Korofala, Tukumari, Goz Dor, Konjara, Khartoum Belleil, and Gargoz were bombed this morning from 7am onwards, a resident of East Jebel Marra told Radio Dabanga.<\/p>\n

The bombs led to the killing and injury of an unknown number of people so far. The witness mentioned Karima Musa Hanan and Saleh El Nur Adam among the dead. A girl named Salima Mohamed Abakar was injured.<\/p>\n

A large number of cattle were killed too. Korofala, Tukumari, and Gargoz burned to ashes entirely. The only water well in the area of Tukumari was destroyed.<\/p>\n

Other sources in the region reported the displacement of approximately 3,000 people from East Jebel Marra to the area of Tabit, about 2,500 to Tawila, and 1,800 to the area of \u200b\u200bShangil Tobaya. \u201cMore than 5,000 people are wandering in the wilderness, or hiding in the valleys and mountains. About 2,800 of them fled to the valleys of Korofala and Tabit, and 2,370 to the valleys of Sharafa and Humeida.\u201d<\/p>\n

One of the sources said that these newly displaced are trying to survive without food, water, and medicines. \u201cThey may die of thirst, or starve to death, if no relief reaches them in time.”<\/p>\n

He called on the authorities and humanitarian organisations to intervene \u201cas soon as possible\u201d, and appealed to the UN and the international community \u201cnot to keep silent concerning these ongoing crimes in East Jebel Marra\u201d.<\/p>\n

The sources reiterated their calls on the UN Security Council to impose a no-fly zone over Darfur, and \u201cbring the perpetrators of these crimes to justice\u201d.<\/p>\n
