More than 2,000 people arrived at El Salam camp for the displaced in Bielel locality, South Darfur, on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Camp sheikh Mahjoub Adam Tabaldiya told Radio Dabanga that the 400 families reached Nyala city first, after fleeing their villages in the areas of Kumbilah, Zalata and Abga Rajil, located south of the Nyala railway. \u201cThese areas have been ravaged and looted by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF)\u201d, Tabaldiya said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen the displaced did not find any help or assistance in Nyala, they came to El Salam seeking shelter, food and drinking water.\u201d<\/p>\n

Villagers, who fled the attacks of the RSF militias on the areas south east of Nyala on 27 and 28 February, continued to arrive at the South Darfur camps, Radio Dabanga reported more than a week ago. Camp sheiks have criticised the delay of assistance by humanitarian organisations for the hundreds of newly displaced families that arrive every day.<\/p>\n

Militia attack displaces West Darfuris<\/strong><\/p>\n

About 250 families – 750 people \u2013 have been displaced from several towns in Kereinik locality, West Darfur, by militiamen who attacked their villages. One of the escapees from Kaira village told Radio Dabanga that the inhabitants of Kaira village, as well as Kammoun and other surrounding villages, \u201cfled from the attacks by a militia wearing military uniforms\u201d.<\/p>\n

He confirmed they had lost their belongings and livestock in the attacks. \u201cWe now live in the open without water, food, or cover. The authorities and humanitarian organisations have yet to provide us with assistance.\u201d<\/p>\n
