The Governor of the Central Darfur State has announced a \u201ccomprehensive plan\u201d to maintain security in the state.<\/p>\n

During a visit to the Ronga Tas camp for the displaced in Azum locality on Thursday, Governor Jaafar Abdel Hakam announced a \u201cjoint and integrated plan between the State government and Security Committee to maintain security and stability in the region\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe disruption of security and the instability in Central Darfur have led to the displacement of villagers, who have sought refuge in the most secure areas. The State government and the Security Committee have developed this comprehensive plan to establish security and stability in Central Darfur through reconciliation programmes, strengthening of social peace, and support of the regular forces. They will play their part in promoting security, implementing development programmes, and providing the required services to the citizens.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Governor told the Ronga Tas camp residents that he is well aware of the displaced people\u2019s needs of essential services, such as water, health care, education, and electricity, besides overall security in Central Darfur State.<\/p>\n

Before his assignment as Central Darfur governor earlier this year, El Shartai<\/em> Jaafar Abdel Hakam Ishag served as Governor of West Darfur. He has been the Chairman of the Transitional Darfur Regional Authority from December 2010 until September 2011, when the body was reconstituted as the Darfur Regional Authority, and Tijani Sese was appointed as chairman.<\/p>\n
