Bus drivers in Khartoum State complain about the fees imposed by the Buses Union’s Public Corporation which does not offer any services in return.<\/p>\n
A bus driver told Radio Dabanga from Khartoum that he and his colleagues suffer greatly from the demands of the Buses Union’s Public Corporation.<\/p>\n
“Every day the Corporation is collecting fees for each trip at the various bus stations. It thus obtains large sums of money, amounting up to thousands of pounds per day. However, it does not offer any health or medical services in return.”<\/p>\n
He stressed that many of the drivers are suffering from haemorrhoids, and other diseases, without having the means for treatment.<\/p>\n
The bus driver demanded the formation of an independent committee to investigate how the money taken as fees is spent, and arrange the development of health service facilities for the drivers.<\/p>\n
