On Saturday a convoy of four commercial vehicles was plundered in North Darfur.<\/p>\n<p>A passenger told Radio Dabanga that government-backed militiamen on motorcycles and others on camelback ambushed the two vehicles on Sunday. They beat and whipped the passengers before robbing them of their belongings. \u201cThey stole SDG350,000 ($61,000) and 200 radios from Siam Abdallah, a dealer in electronics. They robbed another trader of SDG10,000 ($1,750).\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In North Darfur, militiamen intercepted four commercial vehicles in the area of Iweiji, Kutum locality on Saturday. The small convoy was on its way from Abdel Shakour to Kutum town, one of the victims told Radio Dabanga, when it was ambushed. The passengers were beaten, and robbed of their belongings.
