The Darfur Regional Authority (DRA) will continue its efforts to support the displaced and refugees of Darfur to return to their areas. The displaced in war-torn Darfur do not belive it.<\/p>\n

In his speech at the inauguration of a \u201cmodel service complex\u201d in the area of Bulbul, El Salam locality in South Darfur on Monday, Dr Tijani Sese, the chairman of the DRA, affirmed that Darfur is putting its first steps towards recovery. He challenged \u201cthose who are sceptical about the DRA\u2019s ability to implement the voluntary return project and monitor the proceedings, to come and see for themselves\u201d.<\/p>\n

The coordinator of the camps for the displaced in Central Darfur seems to be among those sceptics, as he described the speech of Sese as \u201ca lie\u201d to Radio Dabanga. \u201cThe DRA head is misleading the public opinion with his deceitful information.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cSese is talking about voluntary returns, while at the same time people in Darfur are forcefully displaced from their homes. More than 300,000 people were displaced this year. How can Sese talk about security, when even the USA, by the voice of Samantha Power, has condemned the widespread militia attacks at civilians in Darfur?\u201d<\/p>\n

The camp coordinator described the recent visit of the First Vice-President, Lt. Col. Bakri Hassan Saleh and Tijani Sese to Central and West Darfur as \u201cthe beating of war drums, announcing new attacks on peaceful villages and camps in Darfur\u201d.<\/p>\n

Doha peace document<\/strong><\/p>\n

During his tour through West and Central Darfur, the first Vice-President had reiterated his call upon the armed rebel movements to join the 2011 Doha Document for Peace in Darfur (DDPD) so that \u201cpeace will prevail in the region\u201d.<\/p>\n

The rebel forces, however, responded by saying that the \u201cso-called Doha Peace has died\u201d.  Jibril Adam Bilal, the spokesman for the Justice and Equality Movement told Radio Dabanga that the DDPD \u201chas only brought the people of Darfur more killing, arson, rapes, and displacement. Since February this year, more than 300,000 Darfuris were displaced by the widespread attacks of the Rapid Support Janjaweed<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n
