They deported the detainees to an unknown destination. HUDO states in the appeal that it obtained reliable information that the detainees were taken into military custody, and tortured.<\/p>\n<p>The names of seven of the detainees are Mustafa Bashir (55), the mayor of Lagori; Zakaria Matar (50), farmer; Halima Hassan El Iyasir (43), farmer and housewife; Kaka Hussein Tutu (43) farmer and housewife; Mohamed Mousa Makki (42); trader, Amna Madebu Kortekeila (29), housewife, and Abdallah Khamis (24), farmer.<\/p>\n<p>HUDO in its appeal refers to the fact that the raid may be linked with the \u201cgovernment forces\u2019 defeat in the battle of Daldako\u201d during the last week of May\u201d. The area of Daldako, located 7km north of Kadugli, is a stronghold of the Sudan People\u2019s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOn daily basis the rights of civilians in Nuba Mountain are violated\u201d HUDO states. \u201cThey are accused of associating with the SPLM-N. Since the government started its dry season offensive, many civilians were detained in El Abassiya, Rashad, and Abu Jubaiha counties, the area of Dalami, and now the area of Kadugli.
