The humanitarian and security situation in Kass camp in South Darfur, and Zamzam camp in North Darfur is extremely bad.<\/p>\n

A widow of the Kass camp for the displaced complained to Radio Dabanga that the camp residents, \u201cin particular widows and women whose husbands disappeared\u201d, are living in conditions she described as \u201cworse than catastrophic\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are desperate. The militiamen continuously assault us when we leave the camp. It is impossible for us, women, to collect firewood or tend a garden.  We don\u2019t know what to do anymore to provide our children with food.\u201d<\/p>\n

Zamzam camp<\/strong><\/p>\n

The conditions the newly displaced in Zamzam camp, El Fasher locality in North Darfur, are living in, are \u201cextremely miserable\u201d. \u201cThey are staying in the open, under the scorching sun, without barely anything to drink or eat\u201d, an activist at the camp told Radio Dabanga.<\/p>\n

He urged relief organisations to act immediately and provide aid to the newly displaced, \u201ceven though their registration has not been completed\u201d.<\/p>\n

The newly displaced sought refuge at Zamzam camp after widespread attacks by the paramilitary Rapid support Forces, commanded by the national security, on rural areas near North Darfur\u2019s capital of El Fasher in March and April.<\/p>\n
