A delegation of officials from the Sudanese Ministry of Minerals visiting North Darfur has recommended to extend geological research in the state.<\/p>\n
Concluding its visit of two weeks to mining areas in North Darfur, the delegation, headed by Maj. Gen. Dr Kamal Mousa, director of Heavy Mining at the Federal Ministry, also recommended to accelerate the formation of a \u201cmineral police combat force\u201d, and \u201cto clear the areas of Jebel \u2018Amer and El Sareif Beni Hussein of foreigners\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe delegation recommended geological research of the mountain range in the area of Abu Sakin, north of the capital El Fasher, Ismail Adam Abdel Aziz, director of the General Mining Administration in North Darfur, told the press on Tuesday. \u201cGeological evidence clearly indicates the presence of gold in Abu Sakin.\u201d<\/p>\n
The mining director that the delegation stressed the need to carry out similar research in the area between Gabir El Ghanam and Wadi Kouro, \u201cthat can be divided into blocks for the prospecting of gold\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe recommendations also included the importance of assessing rocks in the area east of El Fasher, which contain raw marble, and do research in areas in El Malha locality, rich of raw minerals that can be used to reduce the costs of reconstructing Darfur.\u201d<\/p>\n
