The military intelligence suspected that they were planning to transport the tyres to rebel-hold area.  \u201cThe truck driver, and many other bystanders, witnessed the brothers being taken by soldiers and transported to Delling town, where they have remained in military custody,\u201d the Human Rights and Development Organization (HUDO) stated in an appeal to release the detainees on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>According to HUDO, one of the brothers (48 years old) is an ex-soldier and farmer, the other (40 years old) is also a farmer. \u201cThe authorities regularly arrest former soldiers from Nuba Mountains, especially those who refuse to be re-recruited into the military,\u201d the organisation said in its appeal. It stated that the brothers had a vehicle to carry animals that was using the mentioned tyres.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<span lang=\"en-GB\">We expect that more arrests will happen as the government plans to disrupt the Nuba Mountains&#8217; farming process.\u201d HUDO documented the government troops&#8217; direct harvest burning in the last two years when people still succeeded to cultivate their lands, for example in El Abasiya area.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>On 18 June, army troops and policemen detained ten people from Lagori village in the Nuba Mountains. Hudo referred in its appeal to the fact that the raid may be linked with the \u201cgovernment forces\u2019 defeat in the battle of Daldako\u201d during the last week of May.
