Abakar El Tom, the spokesman for the Gimir tribe, told Radio Dabanga that the kidnappers had contacted Hamid&#8217;s family to ask for a ransom for his release. The family had refused to pay.<\/p>\n<p>The militiamen finally contacted the family again, asking them to go to a certain location and pick Hamid up, owing to his age and his health. The family eventually found him safely and in good health at the designated location on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>During the last week of June, a 52-year-old farmer was abducted north of Kass town.
