The prices of drinking water are soaring.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the eastern districts of Port Sudan, a tin of potable water now costs SDG4 ($0.70), and in the southern districts SDG3 ($0.52)\u201d, a listener reported to Radio Dabanga from Port Sudan.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA group of Port Sudan activists decided to organise a sit-in on Monday inside the Buildings of the National Electricity Corporation in protest against the power outages that started from the first day of Ramadan.\u201d The source accused the Red Sea State\u2019s government of not being serious about resolving the problem despite they have repeatedly said they would solve the water crisis.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hemorrhagic fever <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The source referred to a recent report issued by&nbsp;the UN Office for the coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in Sudan saying that seven people have died and 700 others are affected by hemorrhagic fever in Port Sudan.<\/p>\n<p>He criticised the Red Sea State\u2019s government of denying the spread of fevers in its capital. \u201cThe hospitals are overcrowded with victims of hemorrhagic fever, while the prices of medicines soar.
