The camps for the displaced in Saraf Umra locality, North Darfur, are devoid of any educational service.<\/p>\n

The coordinator of the Saraf Umra camps reported to Radio Dabanga that the educational services at the camps have collapsed.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe local government refused to provide educational services within the camps, so displaced children of school age are forced to enrol in schools in Saraf Umra locality. Public school fees for this year, however, have been increased to SDG150-200 ($26-35), while private schools have set their lowest fees at SDG700 ($122). No displaced parents can afford these amounts.<\/p>\n

He appealed to the local government to reconsider their decision, and provide educational services within the camps, \u201cso that this generation will not be lost\u201d.<\/p>\n
