Army troops and elements of the Rapid Support Forces reportedly raped and robbed a number of citizens, and torched two villages during their withdrawal from Golo, Central Darfur, after their defeat on Monday.<\/p>\n

Mustafa Tambour, the military spokesman for the Sudan Liberation Movement, led by Abdel Wahid El Nur (SLM-AW), told Radio Dabanga that the government forces, after being defeated by the SLM-AW in the area of Golo, wreaked havoc in the area.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhile retreating, they set the villages of Dar El Salam and Degeina on fire; they raped 11 women, three of them minors, and pillaged a number of commercial vehicles en route from Kutum to Golo.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tambour called via Radio Dabanga upon \u201call Darfuri activists and lawyers, in Sudan, and abroad to file a case at the International Criminal Court against Central Darfur State Governor, Jaafar Abdel Hakam, and the leaders of the Rapid Support militia, Maj. Gen. Abbas Abdel Aziz and Brig. Hemeti\u201d.<\/p>\n

The military spokesman added that the number of government forces fallen in the battle of Golo on Monday, increased to 31. \u201cOur forces also seized six Dushka machineguns, a large number of RPGs, and a variety of heavy weapons and ammunition.\u201d<\/p>\n
