The North Darfur State government will cooperate with a company specialised in the installation of tracking devices for vehicles, in a bid to reduce the increasing number of hijacks.<\/p>\n

North Darfur State Governor Osman Yousif Kibir announced that the state government and the state\u2019s Security Committee last week signed an agreement with a company specialised in the installation of tracking devices for vehicles, the Sudan News Agency (Suna) reported on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

The company will install tracking devices in 5,000 vehicles, Kibir said. The measure is part of a plan prepared by the state\u2019s Security Committee to combat the rampant insecurity in the region.<\/p>\n

On 15 July, the South Darfur State government issued a number of emergency measures, in an attempt to reduce the criminality in the capital. The measures include the prohibition of wearing masks, firing guns, and a ban on motorcycles. A special Emergency Court was established in the capital of Nyala to speedily try offenders of the new measures.<\/p>\n
