He also called on human rights and civil society organisations to intervene.<\/p>\n<p>The South Darfur State authorities on 15 June embarked on a wide campaign to curb the rampant insecurity in its capital and surrounding areas. Security forces searched districts in Nyala for weapons, alcohol, drugs, and stolen goods. In this context, El Salam, Dereig, Otash, and Kalma camp for the displaced, located near Nyala, were raided, and searched by government forces.<\/p>\n<p>El Salam camp was raided on 5 August by a large military force. The troops searched the camp, assaulted and robbed the displaced, and detained more than 75 people.
