A commercial vehicle was ambushed in Sirba locality, West Darfur, on Saturday.<\/p>\n

\u201cA group of gunmen incepted a lorry at gunpoint near Wadi Bir Dageeg on the Sirba-El Geneina road\u201d, the coordinator of the Sirba camps reported to Radio Dabanga. \u201cThey severely beat the passengers, and robbed them of all their belongings.\u201d<\/p>\n

The coordinator described the security situation as \u201cvery unsafe\u201d. \u201cMilitiamen are active in the area, committing serious abuses without being held accountable.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added that on Saturday 20 goats and two horses were stolen in the area of Kout in the eastern part of Sirba locality. \u201cThe gunmen fired into the air, scaring the villagers, and stole their livestock.\u201d \u201cOn Friday, gunmen kidnapped a student from her home in Kout, and gang raped her.\u201d<\/p>\n
