Security agents detained a student of Kalma camp for the displaced in South Darfur on Monday.<\/p>\n

\u201cMembers of the security apparatus stopped a bus at the Majok gate, west of the camp, on Monday. The bus was on its way from Kalma camp to Nyala, capital of South Darfur. They searched the passengers, and took secondary school student  Ibrahim Ahmed Ibrahim (20) with them to an unknown location\u201d, Yagoub Mohamed Abdallah, General Coordinator of the Darfur Displaced and Refugees Association reported to Radio Dabanga.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe family of Ibrahim said that he was on his way to Nyala to buy some school requirements. They stressed that he is not involved in any political activity.\u201d<\/p>\n

The population of Kalma camp staged a number of protest demonstrations last week against repeated raids by government forces on the camp. The raids were carried out under the banner of the emergency measures taken by South Darfur State to curb the rampant insecurity in Nyala locality. South Darfur State Governor Maj. Gen. Adam Mahmoud Jarelnabi told the press on Saturday that a rebel group had secretly entered Kalma camp, and incited school students and women to demonstrate against the authorities, and in favour of the rebels. <\/p>\n
