The head of Kalma camp in Bielel locality, South Darfur, has requested the lifting of the State of Emergency, imposed after the displaced massively protested on 4, 5 and 6 September against the repeated raids by government forces on the camp.<\/p>\n

Sheikh Ali Abdelrahman El Taher, the head of Kalma camp, told Radio Dabanga that he has requested the Bielel locality commissioner to lift the State of Emergency, and the curfew, from 8 pm until 6 am, imposed on the locality.<\/p>\n

\u201cSince the Kalma camp protests, in which eight displaced were shot dead by government troops, security forces have continued their extensive assaults day and night. They search and rob each and everyone in the locality.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThese government forces take away whatever they find of personal belongings when searching the few Kalma displaced who currently dare to leave the camp. In addition, they have detained a number of displaced too.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cKalma camp is now besieged by security forces from all sides, while the camp \u201cdefinitely does not host criminals, or any other wrong doers\u201d. <\/p>\n
