The SRF furthermore has invited leaders of the National Consensus Forces (NCF) for a meeting to unite their standpoints.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe SRF is currently setting up a High Committee to supervise the&nbsp;upcoming&nbsp;negotiation process, which will start in Addis Ababa on 12 October&nbsp;,\u201d Dr Jibril&nbsp;Ibrahim, leader of the mainstream Justice and Equality Movement, and co-deputy president of the SRF, an alliance of Sudan\u2019s main rebel movements, told Radio Dabanga on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>He explained that a preparatory meeting&nbsp;will be held in&nbsp;Germany \u201cearly next month,&nbsp;in which the SRF&nbsp;leadership will discuss the key negotiation issues, the requirements for the coming phase\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Minni Minawi, co-deputy president of&nbsp;the SRF, and leader of the Sudan Liberation Movement-MM, confirmed&nbsp;to Radio Dabanga that&nbsp;the unified negotiation platform on Darfur, South Kordofan and the Blue Nile came&nbsp;at the request of&nbsp;the SRF.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was recommended by Unamid\u2019s head, Mohamed&nbsp;Ibn Chambas, to the&nbsp;AU, and it was approved by the Qatari stakeholders, after consultations&nbsp;conducted by&nbsp;Mbeki&nbsp;and Ibn&nbsp;Chambas&nbsp;in Doha, capital of Qatar, a week ago.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The first consultation meeting between the&nbsp;SRF&nbsp;and the AUHIP team in&nbsp;Addis Ababa on 12&nbsp;October \u201cwill&nbsp;identify the&nbsp;agenda for the cessation of hostilities,&nbsp;and&nbsp;humanitarian issues.&nbsp;Political and military leaders&nbsp;of&nbsp;the SRF will attend, besides representatives of the AU and the UN,\u201d Minawi noted.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Democratic Unionist Party <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Minawi also confirmed that SRF leaders met with Mohamed Sayed Ahmed, envoy of Mohamed Osman El Mirghani, the president of the Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) in the Ethiopian capital last week. &nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe welcomed the initiative by the DUP to withdraw from the Sudanese government, and suspend its cooperation with the ruling party. The SRF furthermore has invited leaders of the National Consensus Forces (NCF) for a meeting to unite their standpoints. \u201cThe SRF is currently setting up a High Committee to supervise the\u00a0upcoming\u00a0negotiation process, which will start in Addis Ababa on 12 October\u00a0,\u201d Dr Jibril\u00a0Ibrahim, leader of the mainstream Justice and Equality Movement, and co-deputy president of the SRF, an alliance of Sudan\u2019s main rebel movements, told Radio Dabanga on Monday. He explained that a preparatory meeting\u00a0will be held in\u00a0Germany \u201cearly next month,\u00a0in which the SRF\u00a0leadership will discuss the key negotiation issues, the requirements for the coming phase\u201d. Minni Minawi, co-deputy president of\u00a0the SRF, and leader of the Sudan Liberation Movement-MM, confirmed\u00a0to Radio Dabanga that\u00a0the unified negotiation platform on Darfur, South Kordofan and the Blue Nile came\u00a0at the request of\u00a0the SRF.\u201cIt was recommended by Unamid\u2019s head, Mohamed\u00a0Ibn Chambas, to the\u00a0AU, and it was approved by the Qatari stakeholders, after consultations\u00a0conducted by\u00a0Mbeki\u00a0and Ibn\u00a0Chambas\u00a0in Doha, capital of Qatar, a week ago.\u201d The first consultation meeting between the\u00a0SRF\u00a0and the AUHIP team in\u00a0Addis Ababa on 12\u00a0October \u201cwill\u00a0identify the\u00a0agenda for the cessation of hostilities,\u00a0and\u00a0humanitarian issues.\u00a0Political and military leaders\u00a0of\u00a0the SRF will attend, besides representatives of the AU and the UN,\u201d Minawi noted. Democratic Unionist Party Minawi also confirmed that SRF leaders met with Mohamed Sayed Ahmed, envoy of Mohamed Osman El Mirghani, the president of the Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) in the Ethiopian capital last week. \u00a0 \u201cWe welcomed the initiative by the DUP to withdraw from the Sudanese government, and suspend its cooperation with the ruling party. A final agreement between the SRF and the DUP will be signed in the near future.\u201d National Consensus Forces The rebel leader added that the SRF has invited the leaders of the NCF, a coalition of Sudanese opposition parties), for a meeting to \u201cexchange views and opinions about the future\u201d, in response to NCF\u2019s September Declaration, issued last week. In the September Declaration, the parties of the NCF called for a popular uprising, saying that they are not interested in a national dialogue, \u201cas long as it will not dismantle the one-party-state in Sudan\u201d. \u201cThe SRF does not disagree at all with the stance of the NCF,\u201d Minawi said. \u201cThe issue of toppling the Khartoum regime, and the dismantling of the government, requires consultations on how to reach an understanding about the path to a democratic Sudan\u201d.
