The Sudanese activists\u2019 movement, Change Now, released a press statement today, listing the names of 48 people detained by the security apparatus in Khartoum since 18 September.<\/p>\n<p>The UNHRC will discuss today (Wednesday) the 2014 report of Prof. Mashood Adebayo Baderin, the UN independent expert on the situation of human rights in Sudan, Abdel Bagi Jibril, director of the Darfur Relief and Documentation Centre (DRDC), based in Geneva, Switzerland, reported to Radio Dabanga.<\/p>\n<p>Jibril predicted the issuance of a resolution to \u201cbe tougher on Sudan\u201d. \u201cDuring an organisational meeting on 25 August, the US Ambassador stated that there is a need to see a stronger resolution reflecting cases of bombardments of civilians and killings of peaceful protesters, as well as to significantly strengthen the Council\u2019s response to the human rights conditions on the ground.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA number of countries has demanded to relist Sudan again under Article IV, concerning the close monitoring of gross human rights abuses.
