He was accompanied by&nbsp;a Unicef operations officer&nbsp;and an&nbsp;official of the Emergency Office in Sudan.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey&nbsp;met with the staff of Kalma camp\u2019s Youth&nbsp;Organisation, who are working in&nbsp;the field of child&nbsp;protection and&nbsp;support of the newly displaced, as well as with personnel of the organisations providing nutrition and water in the camp. The Unicef delegation also held a meeting with the managers of the camp, including sheikhs,&nbsp;omdas, youth and&nbsp;women leaders.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Eisa&nbsp;explained that&nbsp;the meeting&nbsp;discussed&nbsp;the&nbsp;needs of&nbsp;the camp population. The displaced&nbsp;praised Unicef\u2019s support to the displaced, especially in the field&nbsp;of&nbsp;water, and the establishment of&nbsp;new schools.&nbsp;They requested Unicef to&nbsp;support the&nbsp;adult education programme at the camp by adding&nbsp;a&nbsp;compensatory curriculum for&nbsp;young men and women&nbsp;aged between&nbsp;16 and 35, so as to&nbsp;enable them to complete&nbsp;the basic&nbsp;and secondary stages within seven&nbsp;years.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>They also asked about the possibility to obtain scholarships for university students&nbsp;to study&nbsp;abroad, \u201cbecause most Darfuri students do not have the opportunity to study at Sudanese universities\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Apart from educational issues, the camp representatives said that the camp population is in need of more water pumps.
