The commissioner of Wadi Salih locality will take on the payment of the \u201cblood money\u201d for the militiaman, killed by residents of the Deleig camp for the displaced.<\/p>\n

After a group of militiamen shot dead a displaced woman and her son on their farmland on Saturday, displaced caught the perpetrators and handed them to the police of Deleig. When the police intended to release them, the displaced stormed the police station and killed the gunman who had shot the mother and her son. The militiamen demanded a financial compensation for their dead brother, and threatened to torch the camp if the displaced would not pay the \u201cblood money\u201d. <\/p>\n

A local community leader reported to Radio Dabanga that a meeting was arranged in Deleig town on Monday, which was attended by the commissioner, notables of Wadi Salih locality, Fur tribal leaders, and representatives of the Nuwabiya Arab tribe.<\/p>\n

\u201cDuring the meeting, we discussed the amount of the compensation demanded by the Nuwabiya for their murdered tribesman. The commissioner promised to take over the payment of the blood money, amounting to SDG55,000 ($9,600), as well as SDG5,000 ($872) for a thanks-giving ceremony.\u201d<\/p>\n

The source said that the meeting also agreed on the payment of compensation for the Fur woman and her son who were killed by Nubawiya tribesmen inside the camp. \u201cThe amount will be agreed on in a next meeting, to be convened in Garsila.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added that the market and roads of Deleig town will be opened again.<\/p>\n
