The Sudanese Air Force dropped bombs on Deribat area, East Jebel Marra, on Sunday afternoon. There were no casualties reported.<\/p>\n

A listener in the area told Radio Dabanga that the bombardment came after the air force performed an exploratory flight over the area, that lasted for about three hours. Afterwards, an Antonov dropped three bombs, that hit farms and led to fires south of Deribat in South Darfur, he reported.<\/p>\n

The area of Deribat was last shelled on 31 October, by government forces at a nearby military garrison. Three civilians reportedly died. T<\/span>he Sudan Liberation Movement, led by Abdel Wahid El Nur (SLM-AW), claimed the killing of 37 government forces in the Moro garrison earlier that day.<\/p>\n

The civilian population in East Jebel Marra has suffered from bombardments and shelling by the Sudanese Air Force and ground forces against the armed rebel groups for years. The region has been sealed off for aid organisations since 2010.<\/p>\n
