The security service in South Darfur has released all except four displaced people who were arrested in camps for internally displaced people in Kass locality. They were detained for over two weeks. Many other detainees are still missing.<\/p>\n

The four detainees are held in Nyala city, the coordinator of the Kass camps told Radio Dabanga. \u201cWe have identified the whereabouts of three out of these four detainees, who have been transferred from Kass to Nyala. They are Tagel Asfiya Ibrahim, Hassan Hussein, and Abu Bakr Mohamed Eisa.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is still unknown where Ahmed Ismael and more than 30 other missing persons are held,\u201d the coordinator said. He demanded from the authorities to release them or bring them to justice.<\/p>\n

The coordinator added that the security service’s campaign of arrests since the beginning of this month has \u201ccompletely paralysed\u201d life inside the camps for the displaced. \u201cStop these raids, arrests, and the hunting down of leaders and activists in the Kass camps,\u201d he pleaded. The security apparatus arrested dozens of displaced in Kass under the pretext that they are affiliated with the Darfuri rebel groups.<\/p>\n
