According to an armed rebel group, there were many casualties among the residents. &ldquo;The aerial bombardment came after their forces were defeated in Kilgo and chased into Wed Abuk.&rdquo;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The spokesman for the Sudan People&#39;s Liberation Army-North (SPLM-N) reported in a press statement that two Antonovs of the air force, and four helicopters, dropped twenty bombs on Wed Abuk. Besides a number of civilians, animals were also killed in the explosions.<\/p>\n<p>The bombardment led to fear among the villagers and nomads around the town, Arnu Ngutulu Lodi said.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;It was a counter-attack on our positions, at two fronts,&rdquo; Lodi said. He claimed that the SPLA-N forces managed to capture Wed Abuk for a few hours before they withdrew, &ldquo;with the captured military equipment&rdquo;.<\/p>\n<p>The spokesman took the opportunity to express his condolences to the families of the killed villagers and nomads.
