{"id":182064,"date":"2015-09-17T23:59:00","date_gmt":"2015-09-17T23:59:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dabangasudan.preview.websight.nl\/south-darfur-water-unsafe\/"},"modified":"2015-09-17T23:59:00","modified_gmt":"2015-09-17T23:59:00","slug":"south-darfur-water-unsafe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dabangasudan.org\/en\/all-news\/article\/south-darfur-water-unsafe","title":{"rendered":"South Darfur water unsafe"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The Undersecretary of the Sudanese Federal Ministry of Health, Dr Essam Eldin Mohammed, has warned that the water of South Darfur State is unsafe for drinking.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>He stressed that 75 per cent&nbsp;of drinking water in the state is unsafe. He also highlighted the halt in surgical operations in the state owing to the shortage of medical personnel to assist in anaesthesia and surgery; along with stoppages at a number of health facilities, including El Salam children&rsquo;s Cardiovascular Hospital.<\/p>\n<p>The federal Health Minister, Bahar Idris Abu Garda, acknowledged during his visit to the South Darfur that the state&rsquo;s health facilities lack medical equipment. He also acknowledged the government&rsquo;s inaction with regard to its commitments to the Sudanese Turkish hospital in Nyala.<\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday the doctors of Wad Madani educational hospital and Wad Medani hospital for Gynaecology and Obstetrics in El Gezira state entered into a general strike.<\/p>\n<p>The state doctors&rsquo; committee announced in a statement that it will continue the strike until housing is provided for the female doctors.
