They stole money and livestock.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A witness in the area told Radio Dabanga that militiamen, riding on approximately 20 camels and others on horses, appeared in Gara Goz at about 8pm. The village is six kilometres north-east of Khazan Tunjur.<\/p>\n<p>The militiamen beat the villagers and hit them with whips, the witness reported, before they took two women and raped them. The attackers also took money, dozens of cattle and donkeys, and other property from the residents.<\/p>\n<p>Some villagers fled and scattered to the army garrison in Khazan Tunjur and Tawila town.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;We informed the commander of the army garrison about the incident,&rdquo; the witness said, &ldquo;but he said that he does not have the authority to pursue the attackers.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Last month, the local military forces also did not take action against militiamen who attacked farmers in southern Tawila locality.
