A number of listeners in North Darfur have reported that foreign groups, which the citizens of El Malha and Mellit refused to receive or allow to resettle their lands, were transported under the protection of a contingent of the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) with about 30 Land Cruisers to Damirat El Ghireir in El Waha locality on Friday.<\/strong><\/p>\n

On Monday witnesses told Radio Dabanga that a RSF force transported them from Damirat El Ghireir toward the state capital of El Fasher.<\/p>\n

They stressed that the group was “more than 300 foreigners, including children and veiled women.<\/p>\n

The head of the Sudan Liberation Movement (SLM-MM), Minni Arko Minawi, described the group as “terrorists who were transported yesterday over from Damirat El Ghireir on their way to El Fasher and then Nyala”.<\/p>\n

Minawi asserted that “the group consists of 400 terrorists being brought to Darfur by the government, including groups from Daash coming from Libya, Boko Haram from Nigeria, and terrorists from Mali, Niger, and Central Africa.”<\/p>\n

He added that “the group was on its way from Nyala to be resettled in Jebel Marra where the government has killed and displaced the population”. The latest reports reaching Radio Dabanga from witnesses say that the convoy is still in Kutum locality which is a stronghold of the militia.<\/p>\n

In an interview with the Turkish Andol<\/em>, the Assistant to the President, Ibrahim Mahmoud Hamid, denied that elements of the Islamic State (IS) have been transported to Darfur, branding it “a lie propagated by some opposition forces in an attempt to internationalise the issue of Sudan by giving a pretext for foreign intervention”.<\/p>\n

On Sunday North Darfur Government also denied that extremist groups have entered the region, claiming that “the state is free of any presence of terrorist organisations”.<\/p>\n
