On Tuesday, the body of a resident of Forika camp for the displaced in South Darfur’s Gireida locality was found in the vicinity of the camp. A passenger bus was hijacked in Tawila locality in North Darfur.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Speaking to Radio Dabanga, a woman living in Forika camp reported that Mohamed Abu Mohamed left the camp on Monday to collect firewood in the area of Reweina, not far from the camp.<\/p>\n

“When he did not return, a group of camp residents went to search for him. They found his body, riddled with bullets, in Reweina. His donkey cart was nowhere to be seen.”<\/p>\n

Hijack<\/strong><\/p>\n

On Tuesday, a group of militiamen hijacked a passenger bus on the road between El Fasher and Tawila, and robbed the passengers of their belongings.<\/p>\n

Omda Mukhtar Bosh, the coordinator of the Tawila camps for the displaced, informed this station that members of a government in a Land Cruiser mounted with a Dushka machinegun intercepted the bus at gunpoint at about 5 pm.<\/p>\n

“They took the bus carrying 45 passengers in the direction of Kabkabiya. At Ed El Nabag, 30 kilometres from Kabkabiya, they ordered the passengers to disembark, and robbed them of their money, mobile phones, and luggage worth tens of thousands of pounds,” he reported.<\/p>\n
