Three people died and two more were wounded in an exchange of fire between two militia groups in North Darfur on Saturday. Other militiamen gunned-down and murdered a deaf farmer in Central Darfur on Sunday.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Witnesses told Radio Dabanga that the clash occurred in the Um Lawta area, seven kilometres northwest of Kabkabiya on Saturday afternoon.<\/p>\n

They said that El Tayeb Mohammed Adam Mohammed and his brother were riding motorcycles from the Mustariha area to Um Lawta, “carrying some money”.<\/p>\n

Witnesses said that four other militiamen, also riding motorcycles, barred their way. Attackers Munzul Abdullah Ajeeb and Juma El Sayer Ajeeb were killed outright, while Mohammadain Abdullah Ajeeb was injured.<\/p>\n

El Tayeb Mohammed Adam was also killed. His brother was wounded and taken to Kabkabiya for treatment.<\/p>\n

Deaf farmer<\/strong><\/p>\n

Saleh Abakar Saleh Abdeshafi, who was deaf, was shot dead on his way to his farm at Wadi Badlab north of Nierteti in Central Darfur on Sunday.<\/p>\n

One of his relatives told Radio Dabanga that two armed militiamen shot and killed him on the spot. He said that they have notified the police, but have not yet seen any response.<\/p>\n

The body of the deceased was buried in Nierteti yesterday.<\/p>\n
