{"id":180441,"date":"2016-05-19T10:51:00","date_gmt":"2016-05-19T10:51:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dabangasudan.preview.websight.nl\/38-dead-in-west-kordofan-tribal-clash\/"},"modified":"2016-05-19T10:51:00","modified_gmt":"2016-05-19T10:51:00","slug":"38-dead-in-west-kordofan-tribal-clash","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dabangasudan.org\/en\/all-news\/article\/38-dead-in-west-kordofan-tribal-clash","title":{"rendered":"38 dead in West Kordofan tribal clash"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>A five-hour gun battle on Tuesday morning between tribal clans northeast of El Nahud in West Kordofan left 38 dead and many wounded.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Witnesses told Radio Dabanga that the clashes erupted between the Awlad Sibeh and El Jamaniya of the Hamer tribe at Minegir and Biaima Rashid. &ldquo;This flare-up of fighting came after the killing of eight people from both parties in disputes over cattle last week.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Callers added that three of the wounded from both sides were transferred in a serious condition to El Nahud hospital for treatment. They confirmed that the authorities sent a military force to separate the two sides.<\/p>\n<p>The chairman of the Legislative Council of West Kordofan, Sharif Mohammad Abbad, confirmed the death of 38 on both sides. He said the incident occurred &ldquo;in an open area with tribal diversity, using advanced weapons.<\/p>\n<p>Abbad said that the area needs sufficient forces to collect weapons from the citizens.<\/p>\n<p>The Governor of West Kordofan, Abul Gasim said that the army and the police intervened and contained the situation.
