Some residents are unable to pay the high water prices that resulted from the shortage.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A source in Zamzam camp, near El Fasher, reported to Radio Dabanga that less than 30 out of 79 pumps are operative. &ldquo;They are broken down and there is the problem of a scarcity of surface water. Local authorities should speed up finding a solution by digging wells.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>He pointed out that these pumps do not provide enough water for the residents of the camp, totaling 235,000 people.
