{"id":180247,"date":"2016-06-22T18:51:00","date_gmt":"2016-06-22T18:51:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dabangasudan.preview.websight.nl\/sortony-darfur-prosecutors-wind-up-preliminary-enquiries\/"},"modified":"2016-06-22T18:51:00","modified_gmt":"2016-06-22T18:51:00","slug":"sortony-darfur-prosecutors-wind-up-preliminary-enquiries","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dabangasudan.org\/en\/all-news\/article\/sortony-darfur-prosecutors-wind-up-preliminary-enquiries","title":{"rendered":"Sortony: Darfur prosecutors wind-up preliminary enquiries"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The Darfur crimes prosecution office has finished the preliminary inquiries into the incidents of May 9 in camp Sortony, North Darfur where militants killed eight people and wounded others.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday the deputy prosecutor of the special court for Darfur crimes, Ali Karamalluah Morsi, told reporters that Unamid informed the prosecutor&#39;s office about an armed attack at camp Sortony on May 9 that resulted in the death of eight people and wounding four others including a woman.<\/p>\n<p>The Prosecutor&#39;s office said that on June 16, a committee was dispatched by a private aircraft from Unamid headed by police Lieutenant Abdelrahman Amara, and the executive director of the office of the prosecutor on June 16 to Sortony area, to complete the investigation with witnesses, the wounded and inspect the crime scene.<\/p>\n<p>In the May 9 clash between militiamen and the displaced, Unamid peacekeepers engaged with the attackers, reportedly armed tribesmen from the area, and exchanged gunfire, forcing them to flee. An Ethiopian peacekeeper sustained an injury during the confrontation.
