In North Darfur, hundreds of shelters collapsed.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The destroyed Daren Daren dam connected Hameshkoreib with Kassala, Sheikh Ibrahim Nur, leader of the National Umma Party in Kassala State, reported to Radio Dabanga.<\/p>\n<p>The residents of Hameshkoreib fled to the surrounding mountains, and are suffering from a lack of clean drinking water and food, he said.<\/p>\n<p>He added that the Kassala-Port Sudan road is still closed in the area north of Aroma.<\/p>\n<p><strong>North Darfur<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Torrential rains caused the collapse of 465 shelters in the new site for displaced people in Tabit in Tawila locality on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>The shelters belonged to families who fled the fighting in Jebel Marra in the first half of this year, an activist explained to this station.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The affected have lost their sparse belongings,&rdquo; he said. &ldquo;They are now taking refuge in schools in the area.
