The El Rahad Agricultural Project in El Gezira is suffering from a lack of water as well. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The management of El Remash cut off the electricity supply to the farms because of delayed payments to the provider, one of the farmers of the project reported to Radio Dabanga.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;As we cannot run our water pumps anymore, the soil is drying out,&rdquo; he said. &ldquo;The lack of water has already caused damage to the agricultural crops.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>More than 15 villages in the area are relying upon the project.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Soap powder<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The farms of the El Gezira&rsquo;s El Rahad Agricultural Project are also in need of more irrigation water.<\/p>\n<p>Abdallah Omar of the El Rahad Project management said in a press conference on Sunday that the Project is facing problems because the amounts of water provided by the Ministry of Irrigation are &ldquo;far from sufficient&rdquo;.<\/p>\n<p>The manager further criticised the farmers&rsquo; use of soap powder to combat bugs.
