{"id":178560,"date":"2017-04-02T09:39:00","date_gmt":"2017-04-02T09:39:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dabangasudan.preview.websight.nl\/blinded-sudanese-patients-to-be-treated\/"},"modified":"2017-04-02T09:39:00","modified_gmt":"2017-04-02T09:39:00","slug":"blinded-sudanese-patients-to-be-treated","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dabangasudan.org\/en\/all-news\/article\/blinded-sudanese-patients-to-be-treated","title":{"rendered":"Blinded Sudanese patients to be treated"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>On Thursday, the Khartoum <\/strong><strong>state <\/strong><strong>Ministry of Health ordered the management of the Makkah Eye Hospitals in Sudan<\/strong><strong> <\/strong><strong>to arrange treatment for the 34 people who recently <\/strong><strong>lost their eyesight<\/strong><strong> in the hospital.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In February, more than 45 patients at the Makkah Eye Complex&nbsp;in Omdurman who received an injection in their eyes have partly or completely been blinded.<\/p>\n<p>Avastin is injected directly into the eye to treat problems of the retina. 34 patients have completely lost their eyesight.<\/p>\n<p>After the incident, the Ministry of Health immediately ordered a thorough investigation and the closure of the Complex in Omdurman for new cases.<\/p>\n<p>Sources in Khartoum claim that the medicine was expired.
