Security authorities arrested two people from El Gezira and Managil for distributing advertisements to celebrate Land Day tomorrow.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Two members of the coalition responsible for the distribution of pamphlets were working for the Land Day event in Matoug village when security officers arrested them. Their names are Abdelwahab Mohamed Nur and Omda El Khidir, coalition secretariat member Asim Kanon informed Radio Dabanga.<\/p>\n

He condemned the arrest and considered it “an attempt by the authorities to block the celebrations, whose arrangements have been completed to be held at El Miegna area in El Gezira”. He stressed that the coalition remains determined to make the event successful despite the restrictions that have been imposed by the authorities.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile the coalition renewed its categorical refusal to pay any extra water fees on top of last year’s fees. A prominent member explained that the farmers have decided that they are not going to pay any price increase for the water tax. They expressed their stance at the Managza Conference in the presence of members of the National Consensus Forces (NCF) coalition.<\/p>\n
