They were <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dabangasudan.org\/en\/all-news\/article\/jem-leaders-trial-begins-in-khartoum\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">tried in Khartoum in 2011<\/a> by a special Terrorism Court in a process that the JEM branded as unfair. He <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dabangasudan.org\/en\/all-news\/article\/sudan-releases-jem-leader-after-7-years\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">was released<\/a> from Kober Prison in Khartoum-North earlier this month.<\/p>\n<p>Deng, originally from southern Sudan, is married to two Sudanese women.
