Two people were killed, one of them by policemen, in northern Sudan and Kordofan. Four people sustained injuries in an armed robbery in North Darfur.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Abdelrahman El Gurashi was shot dead by police in a riot that broke out during a regional soccer match at Koka in Sudan’s Northern State this week. A number of others were wounded, including police personnel.<\/p>\n

The incident, that happened during a match between El Turaa and Kajbar teams, has been condemned by the Nubian community. The leaders of El Mahas have demanded an investigation into those involved in the shooting.<\/p>\n

Killing<\/strong><\/p>\n

In El Rahad in North Kordofan, a woman student was killed by unknown assailants, according to a source in the area. The attackers reportedly first tried to rape Farira Suleiman Yahya. More details about the incident are not yet known.<\/p>\n

Poisoning<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mohamed Omar died and 14 others were poisoned – four of them badly poisoned – at Bayata village in Gireida, South Darfur. The four victims have been taken to Gireida hospital.<\/p>\n

A relative of one of the victims said that 15 farmers were poisoned after eating yoghurt, which has caused the death of Mohamed Omar. Ahmed Adam Ali, Suleiman Mohamed Ali, Adam Yagoub and Saleh Musa are in a critical condition.<\/p>\n

Robbery<\/strong><\/p>\n

Four people were wounded, one of them seriously, in an armed robbery of a commercial vehicle on its way from Deribat to El Fasher in North Darfur.<\/p>\n

One of the victims told Radio Dabanga that eight gunmen on camels opened fire on the vehicle at Dubo El Omda area and wounded Idris Ali Adam, Yagoub Ali, Kaltoum Abdelmajid, and Fatima Saleh Arbab. He pointed out that the gunmen robbed the passengers’ mobile phones and the amount of SDG15,000 ($533) in cash.<\/p>\n
