Darfur displaced commemorate Kalma massacre"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>On Sunday, the displaced of Kalma camp in Nyala commemorated the 10th anniversary of the &lsquo;Kalma camp massacre&rsquo; when in August 2008, a group of militiamen and members of the paramilitary Central Reserve Police (Abu Tira) raided Kalma camp for the displaced near Nyala, capital of South Darfur leaving at least 36 people dead and 126 wounded.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The gathering also commemorated the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dabangasudan.org\/en\/all-news\/article\/south-darfur-camp-protest-turns-deadly-unamid-calls-for-restraint\">five people who died on 22 September 2017<\/a> when security forces opened fire on a protest against a visit by the Sudanese President Omar al Bashir.<\/p>\n<p>The displaced people peacefully marched from the camp to the graves of the martyrs under the guard of Unamid where the leaders of the displaced addressed the march after saying condolences on the souls of the martyrs.<\/p>\n<p>Yagoub Furi, chairman of the Darfur Displaced General Coordination said: &ldquo;The Khartoum regime and its militias did not leave us after they killed us, raped our women, looted our money, burned our villages, and even burned us and killed us in the camps we came to where it had committed both massacres&rdquo;.<\/p>\n<p>He added that as part of a campaign to wipe out its crime, the regime is currently working to dismantle the camps by force.<\/p>\n<p>He stressed that they are committed to retribution and demanded the return of humanitarian organisations, disarmament of militias, the expulsion of new settlers and fair compensation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bus accident<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On Sunday two people died and 32 sustained injuries when a passenger bus overturned at Domaya on the road between the El Fasher and Nyala, capitals of North and South
