El Gedaref has been experiencing a severe shortage of cooking gas for the last two days. Residents of El Gedaref told Radio Dabanga that the price of a cylinder of gas in the black market has risen to SDG 500 ($10.64*). The national capital of Khartoum is running out of bread.<\/strong><\/p>\n

They explained that they ordered cooking gas from the agents a few days ago, but have not received any cylinders yet. They accused the agents and representatives of the security apparatus of manipulating the distribution of cooking gas.<\/p>\n

The gas crisis has reportedly spread to include bakeries, which has led to a bread shortage.<\/p>\n
