Markets across Darfur have seen a sharp rise in prices of essential goods such as onions and bread. Authorities in the Sudanese capital of Khartoum vow to solve the bread shortage within two days.<\/strong><\/p>\n

A protesting employee in the North Darfur capital of El Fasher told Radio Dabanga that his salary of SDG 2,000 ($42) is equal to the price of one sack of onion, while the salary of a newly appointed employee at the ninth grade is SDG 1,000 ($21).<\/p>\n

Officials of Khartoum state government say that the bread queues of the last few days are expected to end in two days in the capital because of the regular delivery of flour rations to more than 3,000 bakeries in Khartoum.<\/p>\n

Bread, fuel shortages<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

As reported yesterday by Radio Dabanga, the bread and fuel shortages have continued in the Sudanese capital of Khartoum<\/a>, as well as Sennar, Kassala, New Halfa, Blue Nile, South Kordofan and Wadi Halfa in the Northern state for the third day in a row amid suffering and rise of prices in the Sudanese markets.<\/p>\n

Woman from Khartoum told Radio Dabanga that the queues in front of bakeries had increased markedly, amid complaints about reducing the size of the bread and increasing its price by 8 breads at 10 Pounds.<\/p>\n
